Winged termites have a straight waist, straight antennae, and two wings of equal size that they shed shortly after swarming-usually in early Spring when it's warm and rainy. Flying ants look similar but have skinny waists, bent antennae, and one set of wings noticeably larger than the other. They swarm at different times depending on their species.
